Anya Skae is a Summer Associate at Caldwell. In this position, she collaborates with Caldwell’s attorneys to help advance the patent prosecution process for robust patents that protect valued intellectual property assets. Highlights of her role include assisting with:

  • Preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
  • Provide support to attorneys in various steps of the patenting process.
  • Conduct legal research concerning new advancements in technology and its role in the legal landscape.


Prior to joining Caldwell, Anya graduated with a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. During her time at Maryland, Anya was a member of the Biomedical Engineering Society and President, Vice President of Membership Experience, and Director of Philanthropy of Alpha Delta Pi. Through her senior capstone, Anya, along with a team of colleagues, developed a cost-effective robotic hand gripper to aid patients with arthritis.

Currently, Anya is a rising third year at Suffolk University Law School, where she is the Managing Editor of the Journal of Health and Biomedical Law, Council of Presidents Liaison, a position on the Student Bar Association Executive Board, President of the Health and Biomedical Law Society, and a member of the Intellectual Property Student Association. During her time in law school, Anya was a legal intern at a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company in both their Commercialization and Development and Innovation Law practice groups, allowing her to see the connection between regulatory and intellectual property matters for a large corporation bringing transformative medications to the market.
