Caldwell is pleased to announce that Katherine Rubino, PharmD, has joined the firm as a patent attorney. Katie will be leading our life sciences patent prosecution practice and working with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to create meaningful and monetizable patent portfolios.
Katie’s practice focuses on patent prosecution directed to robust patents that protect valued intellectual property assets, counseling regarding proactive and effective patent portfolio management for startups and established businesses, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board Procedures.
Katie has technical expertise and experience in biologics, immunotherapy, antibody technologies, gene therapy, therapeutic vaccines, small molecule therapeutics, and drug formulations.
Prior to joining Caldwell, Katie performed extensive research to develop and deliver medications appropriately and effectively. Katie collaborated with physicians and patients to create customized medications based on numerous factors including: drug solubility, drug compatibility, drug mechanism of action, clinical indication, and patient preference.

Katie holds a PharmD and B.S. from Northeastern University. She earned her J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law.
